Science And Spirituality: Two Sides Of A Coin
Most people think that science and spirituality are totally opposite fields of studies, but many noble souls and Nobel laureates agree from experience in both areas that they are two sides of the same coin. The aim of science is to uncover the deepest spiritual truths, and the aim of spirituality is the search for the cause behind the scientific fact.
They are both seeking the answers to the same question, but in different ways.
While physical scientists gaze at the stars through powerful telescopes and listen to radio waves from distant stars through instrumentation, spiritual scientists gaze at the inner stars and listen to the inner music of the spheres through meditation. They both sit in silence, watching and waiting.
From time immemorial, this image of ‘Om’ is most revered and hangs on the walls of all seekers..Its origin is mysterious. It is assumed that the concentric circles or the orbits or the strings represent ‘Omkara’ or ‘Pranava’.
Mr. Tata claims to be seeing these Orbits/ Circles.

The Vedas represent the spiritual experiences of the Rushis who transcended the limits of space and time. They are believed to be eternal truths of the Cosmos revealed to the sages of yore. Vedas are also believed to be of great antiquity dating to the beginning of time itself. The great Seers for whom the universe itself was a laboratory could visualize the things in the universe and imparted the knowledge to their disciples.
Indian philosophy is not a mere exercise in thought but an intuition, and also known as ‘Darshanas’ meaning visualization or something seen; and formulation of the Truth.
The great sages to whom we should be thankful for their contributions of discovery, propagation and elaboration, form a galaxy and include versatile personalities like Vasistha, Bharadwaja, Angirasa, Parasara, Veda Vyasa, Jaimini and Panini in the ancient times, only to mention a few.
The contributors of the medieval period include Varahamihira, Bhaskaracharya, Adisankara, Ramanuja, Madhava, Vidyaranya, Sayancharya and host of others. This Vedic legacy was carried forward in the last century by stalwarts like Swami Dayananda, Aurobindo and Kanchi Paramacharya HH Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Swamiji.
